Bible Study Insights

I'm currently working on my site www.studying-the-bible.com. I'm actually converting an older site I started awhile back. If you see a lot of pages not found, then I haven't converted those pages as of yet.

After I get all the pages back up, I will be going over the content I already have on the site. Which is basically the first few chapters in Matthew. The topics page is going to be huge. I'm separating the verses as if I was working on a concordance, but only with the ones I believe can develop into topics later on. Then I will be reviewing the different passages, and dividing them in sub-topics.

I Want to Hear Your Insights

Please post below in the small comment link right underneath this blog. You can also click on comments to read what others have posted.

The most interesting part will be the insights. This part isn't where sermons or long complex thoughts will be laid out. I might create another section dealing with that if I'm ever led that way. This is the part where you or I are reading the Bible, and a light bulb turns on. This is what God meant, this is another way to look at this passage, or wow I didn't see this before. This is also what I would like you to share not only with me, but others as well.

I know many are in different areas of their Bible studies. For myself and this site, As soon as I get this site up, I will be concentrating on Gospel of Matthew starting at the beginning.

I would like to stay at the beginning of Matthew for now, but I know some of you have really, really good insights that you don't really want to wait to give. I'll tell you what, go ahead and post them. I will save them. The insights that are biblically based will go into the insights area on my site permanently giving you recognition. If you have a blog spot or web site that deals with the Bible, I will add your URL also.

About the Different Sections on the Site

For parts of the Bible we really have to dig to find out what is being said, I have further research section. As you are studying and find what you believe to be really good sites, post them to this blog. I'll be adding a section Events and Stories that will give the entire event such as the birth of Christ and Parables a place where they will be listed by the Event or Story title, and can be read straight through without having the verses broken up as in the topics area.

People in the Bible section, I'm listing the people as they appear, what they did, and in which verses they appeared in. With places in the Bible, I will be adding the different places as they appear in the Bible. Possibly mapping out Jesus' Journey, or even Paul's Journey, or at least showing which place they went to in succession.

Why Do This?

Am I over doing it? Possibly, but really studying the Bible entails looking in depth, and at many different aspects as possible. Has this work already been done before? Sure. It is a lot different doing it yourself than reading something that has already been supposedly thoroughly studied by various theologians. Sometimes reading what they say can be confusing. We need to find out what the Bible says for ourselves. As we do God can very well give us insights that he hasn't given to them.

Sometimes God shows us something personal for ourselves, and sometimes He shows us things we just need to share with others. He has so many things layered into His word, that I don't think any one person can ever glean all there is to know in one life time. Even though there is a lot of material out there already, we still need to read and study the Bible for ourselves. We need to know what the word says. When some guru says the Bible says this and gives you a verse. You can discern if what he is saying is right or wrong.

Exactly what is the purpose of this site?

This site is being created more as a study tool to help you in your studies. It will grow and develop and expand as time goes on. Hopefully, it will become more interactive later on. I'm not sure about that as of yet, or how to implement it. No, there will be no study guides or study topics. I know right now comparatively speaking there will not be much to work with until I at least get the Gospel of Matthew done.

How long will it take? I'm not sure. All I know is that all I want to do is to work on this site. I can't wait until I can actually start really updating again and expanding. I'll be doing that as soon as I'm done converting the site to the new layout with CSS. The worst part I believe is over, and now all I need to do is copy and paste the code to all the other pages.

Even though I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place, I feel a peace that really does pass all understanding. Call me crazy. I'm just about flat broke, and my bills are due or going to be due soon. Yet I have a faith, trust, and peace that is telling me God has a plan. I'm grateful for everything we do have. I know there are those out there who don't have. No matter what happens, I know God will work out every thing for the better. Call me crazy, but I have a trust in the Lord my God, my Saviour, Jesus.

No matter what situation you are facing right now, I pray that Jesus will give you a peace and the knowledge that things will be worked out for His glory. Basically that means we will go through tough times. When we get out of it, we will know it was Jesus who pulled us through, and helped us when we needed the most help. It really hurts going through the storm, but what is at the other side waiting for us, is better than we can ever imagine. God Bless, and go in peace. Jesus be with you, and protect you always.
